"What's New with FMS Version 7"

Version 7 has the following enhancements over Version 6.1:

Documentation

The manual was reorganized, rewritten and reformatted. It is now available in both html and pdf versions, which can be viewed online or downloaded. The online version can be translated using Goggle translate into any of over 100 languages.

The following new chapters were added:

Chapter 1. Introduction
Provides an overview of the FMSlib, Dashboard and MatrixWarrior products.
Chapter 7. Dashboard Performance Monitor
Describes Dashboard in detail, including how to incorporate it into your application to monitor performance.
Chapter 8.MatrixWarrior Application
Provides instructions on how to run MatrixWarrior to test your hardware and learn about FMSlib and Dashboard.

NVIDIA

Updated the CUDA Toolkit to version 8.0. All required components of the CUDA Toolkit are now included with this distribution. For Linux, they are statically linked in. For Windows, the CUBLAS shared-object library is included as a separate file.
Benchmarked and tuned FMSlib for the P100 GPU.

Intel

Updated the compilers used to build the products to the 2017 release.
Updated the MKL library to the 2017 release. This library is statically linked in.

Dashboard

Introduced as a separate performance monitoring tool, which can be incorporated into your application, even if it does not do matrix algebra.

MatrixWarrior

A Quick Start Guide was added as the first web page displayed. This page provides basic instructions for running MatrixWarrior. Additional pages were added, and the content of other pages increased and improved. A movie feature, which records the history of the Performance page, was added to watch the calculation after it has completed.
