This parameter determines whether FMS writes a word at the end of a file when it is opened. The following options are available:
- 0, Do not write a word at the end of the file when it is opened.
- 1, Write a word at the end of the file when it is opened.
Writing a word at the end on open will physically reserve the space and guarantee that sufficient disk space is available for solving the problem. However a significant amount of time may be required, as much as writing the entire file, to perform this operation.
